UK number verification
UK phone-number regulations require Twilio to collect and validate information about the end user assigned to a number.
Fieldified guides the account through one of two paths:
- Registered business
- Individual
Complete verification before the displayed deadline to prevent disruption to messaging from the dedicated number.
Start verification
- Open the Fieldified message center or dedicated-number settings.
- Select Start Verification.
- Choose Business or Individual.
- Select Begin Verifying.
- Complete the secure Twilio verification flow.
Choose the path that reflects the legal user of the number.
Register as a business
Use the business path when the organization has an official registration number.
Business information
Provide:
- Legal business name
- Registration authority
- Business registration number
- Website
- Business classification
The name and number must match the applicable company register.
Business address
Enter:
- Street
- City
- County or region
- Country
- Postal code
Some UK number types require a valid UK address, while other supported number types can use a valid address elsewhere. Fieldified displays the requirement for the selected number.
Emergency address
Enter the address associated with emergency-service routing when requested. Confirm whether it is the same as the business address.
Keep this address accurate for the intended number use.
Authorized representative
Provide a senior person responsible for the business phone number:
- First and last name
- Role
- Work email
- Mobile phone number
The contact number must be a real mobile number where the person can be reached. Do not use the new dedicated number, a landline, or another CPaaS-provisioned number.
Review and submit
- Review the legal name and registration number.
- Confirm the address requirements.
- Verify the representative’s mobile number and email.
- Select Submit.
- Return to Fieldified after the secure flow confirms receipt.
Register as an individual
Use the individual path when the number is assigned to a person rather than a registered business.
Personal information
Provide:
- First and last name
- Date of birth
- Email address
- Reachable mobile phone number
The mobile number cannot be the dedicated Fieldified number or another provider-issued virtual number.
Address information
Enter the residential and emergency addresses requested for the selected number:
- Street
- City
- County or region
- Country
- Postal code
The required address country depends on the number type shown in the verification flow.
Identity and address evidence
Upload the supported documentation requested by Twilio, such as:
- Passport
- Driving licence
- National identity document
- Utility bill
- Tax notice
- Tenancy or ownership evidence
The document must be current, legible, and consistent with the submitted name and address.
Submit securely
Identity documents contain sensitive personal information. Upload them only through the Fieldified-launched secure Twilio verification flow.
Do not email identity documents to team members or attach them to client records.
Verification statuses
Draft
The form was started but not submitted. Return before the displayed expiration date or begin again after the draft expires.
In progress
Twilio is reviewing the submitted information. Monitor the Fieldified status for a request for correction.
Completed
The end user and phone number have been registered. Acknowledge the completion message to return the message-center indicator to normal conversation counts.
Rejected
The submission did not satisfy one or more requirements.
Open the rejection reason, correct the information or document, and resubmit. Common causes include:
- Legal name mismatch
- Incorrect registration number
- Unsupported or expired identity document
- Address mismatch
- Unreachable representative phone number
- Blurred or cropped document image
Keep UK registration current
Update Fieldified when:
- The assigned business or individual changes.
- The legal business name changes.
- The registered address changes.
- The authorized representative changes.
- The number’s use or assignment changes.
Twilio can require reverification after regulatory or account changes.
