Converting a request moves the inquiry into the next stage of work. Convert to a quote when the client needs pricing, options, or approval. Convert to a job when the work is already approved and ready to schedule.
Open Requests and select the request you want to convert.
Before converting
Review the request before conversion so the quote or job starts with accurate information.
Confirm:
- Client name and contact details.
- Property address.
- Requested date or preferred timing.
- Service description.
- Products and services.
- Photos and attachments.
- Assessment notes.
- Internal notes.
- Any custom fields your team requires.
If the request needs an on-site review first, schedule an assessment before converting.
Convert to a quote
Convert to a quote when the client needs to approve pricing, optional services, contract terms, or a deposit before work starts.
When you convert a request to a quote, Fieldified carries over the request context so you do not have to re-enter details.
The quote can include:
- Client and property.
- Quote title.
- Request description.
- Products and services.
- Line item quantities and pricing.
- Assessment notes.
- Photos and attachments.
- Internal notes for the team.
Open Quotes to review and send the quote after conversion.
Review the quote
Before sending the quote, review:
- Line items.
- Quantities.
- Unit prices.
- Discounts.
- Deposits.
- Optional line items.
- Client message.
- Terms and disclaimers.
- Expiry date.
Use Products and Services to keep standard quote line items consistent.
Convert to a job
Convert to a job when the client has already approved the work or when the request is for work that can be scheduled directly.
When converting to a job, Fieldified carries over:
- Client and property.
- Job title.
- Request details.
- Products and services.
- Notes and attachments.
- Assessment findings.
Open Jobs after conversion to finish the job setup.
Review the job
Before scheduling or dispatching the job, review:
- Job type.
- Products and services.
- Visit date and time.
- Assigned team members.
- Job forms or checklists.
- Internal notes.
- Invoicing setup.
Use Schedule to confirm visit timing and team availability.
Convert after an assessment
Many requests are converted after an assessment is complete. In that workflow, the assessment notes become the bridge between the original inquiry and the next record.
Before converting, make sure the request includes:
- What was inspected.
- Photos or measurements.
- Recommended service.
- Any client decisions made on site.
- Any scheduling or access notes.
That information helps sales build a stronger quote and helps operations schedule the job correctly.
Request status after conversion
After conversion, the request status updates so the team can see that it has moved forward.
The request remains useful as the source record. It shows where the work started, what the client originally asked for, and which quote or job was created from it.
Convert from save options
When creating or updating a request, you can also use save options to move faster.
Options include:
- Save request: Keep the request open.
- Save and convert to quote: Save the request and start a quote.
- Save and convert to job: Save the request and start a job.
Use save and convert when the request already has enough detail for the next stage.
If the request should not move forward
If the client does not proceed, archive the request so it leaves the active list while keeping the record available for reference.
Add a short note explaining why it was archived. This helps managers review conversion patterns later.
