Importing from QuickBooks Desktop
QuickBooks Desktop clients are moved into Fieldified through a CSV client import.
For QuickBooks Online, use the connected synchronization workflow to reduce duplicate customer records.
Generate the report
In QuickBooks Desktop:
- Select Reports.
- Select Customers & Receivables.
- Select Customer Contact List.
Columns
Select Customize Report, then include the required columns.
Common columns include:
- Customer.
- Has Notes.
- Company.
- Mr./Mrs./Ms.
- First Name.
- Last Name.
- Main Phone.
- Work Phone.
- Home Phone.
- Mobile.
- Fax.
- Main Email.
- CC Email.
- Alternate Email.
- Primary Contact.
- Invoice To 1, 2, and additional lines.
- Street 1.
- Street 2.
- City.
- State.
- Zip Code.
- Country.
- Ship To 1, 2, and additional lines.
- Ship To Street 1.
- Ship To Street 2.
- Ship To City.
- Ship To State.
- Ship To Zip Code.
- Ship To Country.
Address components must use separate columns for street, city, state, postal code, and country.
Export
- Open the Excel menu.
- Select Create New Worksheet.
- Choose Create a comma-separated values (.csv) file.
- Select Export.
- Save the file somewhere easy to locate.
Open the CSV and review headers, blank names, duplicate emails, and address formatting before import.
Import into Fieldified
- Open Clients.
- Select More actions.
- Select Import clients.
- Upload the QuickBooks CSV.
- Map QuickBooks billing fields to client billing fields.
- Map shipping or service fields to property fields.
- Validate the rows.
- Import.
