Line item images on quotes

Add images to quote line items so clients can understand the proposed work.

Line item images make quotes more visual and easier for clients to approve. Use them to show products, materials, before photos, site-specific recommendations, or examples of completed work.

When to use line item images

Use images when visuals help the client understand what they are approving.

Good examples include:

  • Product choices.
  • Material or finish options.
  • Property areas from an assessment.
  • Damage or repair areas.
  • Before-and-after examples.
  • Equipment or parts.
  • Optional upgrades.

Images reduce confusion and help the client connect each line item to the real work.

Add an image to a line item

When creating or editing a quote, open the line item and upload an image.

For each image:

  1. Choose a clear file.
  2. Add it to the related line item.
  3. Review the thumbnail.
  4. Replace the image if it is unclear.
  5. Remove the image if it no longer matches the scope.

Use one image per line item when the image is meant to explain that specific product or service.

Image quality

Use images that are bright, focused, and easy to understand on mobile.

Good image practices:

  • Crop out unnecessary background.
  • Avoid blurry photos.
  • Use consistent orientation when possible.
  • Choose images that match the line item.
  • Use assessment photos when the quote is property-specific.

Client view

When the client opens the quote online, images appear with the related line items. The client can view the thumbnail and open a larger version when needed.

Clients can still approve, request changes, select optional items, and pay deposits from the quote view.

Preview as client

Preview the quote before sending.

Confirm:

  • Images appear beside the right line items.
  • Images are not confusing.
  • Optional item images match the optional choices.
  • Text and image order make sense.
  • The quote is easy to review on mobile.

Convert the quote to a job

When a quote is converted to a job, line item images carry context into the operational workflow. Field teams can use the images to understand the approved work, materials, and property-specific details.

Review the job after conversion so the team knows which images are instructions, product examples, or site references.

Add images to products and services

If a product or service should always use the same image, add that image in Products and Services.

This helps future quotes use consistent visuals automatically.

If you create a custom line item with a useful image, save it to Products and Services so the team can reuse it later.
