Business goals

Use Fieldified reports and dashboards to define business goals and track progress.

Business goals help you turn Fieldified activity into a clear operating plan. Use goals to set targets, measure progress, review monthly performance, and decide which actions your team should take next.

Overview

Business goals combine the targets you care about with Fieldified data from requests, quotes, jobs, invoices, clients, labor, expenses, and reports.

Use goals to:

  • Set and track business priorities.
  • Measure progress with real operational metrics.
  • Review recommendations and next steps.
  • Keep owners and managers focused on the most important numbers.
  • Review a monthly snapshot of wins, risks, and opportunities.

Common goals include growing revenue, booking more jobs, improving quote conversion, reducing unpaid invoices, getting organized, improving client experience, and preparing for team growth.

Set your business goals

Open Reports or Dashboard to review current performance before setting goals.

When setting goals, answer these questions:

  1. How do you currently track business goals? Choose whether goals are tracked formally, reviewed in a spreadsheet, discussed during meetings, or kept informally.
  2. What is your revenue goal? Select whether the revenue period is monthly, quarterly, or annual. Add the target amount and why you chose it.
  3. What do you most want to improve? Choose a focus area such as more leads, better quote conversion, stronger cash flow, cleaner operations, better client communication, or team growth.
  4. What does success look like? Describe the outcome in your own words and choose the date range you want to work toward.

After setup, Fieldified can organize your plan around:

  • Strategic goals.
  • Benchmarks.
  • Progress metrics.
  • Recommended actions.
  • Monthly review points.

Where to review progress

Use Reports to monitor:

Each goal card should show:

  • Goal name.
  • Timeframe.
  • Current performance.
  • Progress toward target.
  • Target or benchmark.
  • Status such as on track, needs attention, or off target.

Edit your goals

Review goals anytime your business priorities change.

Use this process:

  1. Open Dashboard or Reports.
  2. Find the Business Goals section.
  3. Choose the edit option.
  4. Update the same setup questions: tracking method, revenue goal, improvement area, success definition, and timeframe.
  5. Save the updated plan.

Update goals when you change pricing, add a crew, expand services, start a marketing campaign, or shift your focus from growth to collections.

Review your monthly business snapshot

At the start of each month, review the previous month’s performance and decide what to adjust.

A useful monthly snapshot includes:

  • Revenue.
  • Total jobs.
  • New clients.
  • New requests or leads.
  • Quotes sent.
  • Quote conversion rate.
  • Invoice receivables.
  • Outstanding balances.
  • Team labor and expenses.
  • Progress toward each goal.
  • Wins and opportunities.
  • Recommended next actions.

Use the snapshot to pick one or two operating changes for the next month, such as tightening quote follow-up, improving job notes, collecting deposits, reviewing unpaid invoices, or cleaning up products and services.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change my goals after setting them?

Yes. Update goals when your business priorities change, when your team reaches a target, or when a goal needs a different timeframe.

Do business goals replace reports?

No. Goals organize the outcome you want, while reports show the data behind that outcome. Use both together.

What recommendations should I review?

Recommendations may include actions like adding deposits to quotes, reviewing overdue invoices, improving quote follow-up, adjusting pricing, adding checklists, or updating client communication.

Who should review business goals?

Owners and managers should review goals regularly. Dispatchers, sales users, and field leaders can also use the relevant goal metrics for their day-to-day work.
